Festival Players of Prince Edward County

Rosehall Run is a proud supporter of our regional professional theatre company, the Festival Players of Prince Edward County. Rosehall Run's Lynn Sullivan is pleased to serve on the Festival Players Board of Directors and enjoys working with the dynamic team of talented professionals which continues to stage unique Canadian-made theatre experiences each summer in The County. Our Vision is that Prince Edward County will continue to be enriched by the power of live theatre; theatre which is deeply rooted in the fabric of the community and which inspires creativity, gathering, exchange of ideas and pride of place.

In 2011 Rosehall Run hosted its first Festival Players production staged in the Grand Tent in our Vineyard. The Ballad of Weedy Peetstraw by Peter Anderson & John Millard was a tremendous success and was followed in 2012 by the hilarious Harvest, written by Ken Cameron. 2013's production of The Notorious Right Robert and his Robber Bride introduced us to Right Robert, his reluctant bride Jenny Lundy and the colourful characters from the one-horse town of Chickabiddy and in 2014 Test Drive took us on a wild ride to an age-gone-by driven by the guy with the zeal to close the deal. August 2015 introduced us to the hilarious couples that navigated their way through Stag and Doe.

In 2016 Festival Players commissioned award-winning playwright Dave Carley to adapt the only novel by iconic Canadian poet Al Purdy. The stage adaptation is told as a coming-of-age radio drama set against the backdrop of World War I and a life-altering, cataclysmic event that actually took place in 1918 in Trenton, Ontario, the neighbouring community to Purdy's birthplace.
