Hungry Point

The land where we chose to establish our roots was previously known by local farmers as “Hungry Point” where conditions were dry, winds were harsh and shallow rooted plants did not always thrive. It turns out vinifera grapes are right at home here. The vines dig deep into the earth gathering enough water and nutrition from the mineral-rich clay to produce ripe, concentrated fruit. The Hungry Point Pinot Gris is sourced from our West Vineyard.

Tasting Notes

Delicate floral and bright citrus fruit on the nose; on the palate it is dry and crisp with bright fruit like lemon, yellow pear and apricot along with slightly toasty vanilla characters and a zesty refreshing finish.

Food Pairing Suggestions

Pairs wonderfully with summer salads like roasted beets and peach salad with goat cheese. Great wine to pair with white meat dishes with a touch of lemon citrus flavour, like lemon chicken. It is also ideal with fish and seafood dishes like grilled salmon or steamed mussels with white wine sauce.

Critical Acclaim

“Crisp and clean with notes of white melon and lime zest in this vibrant, medium-bodied Prince Edward County white wine made from Pinot Gris grapes. Pair with fresh seafood.”

“Honeysuckle, beeswax and peach aromas introduce a tart, tang-laded steam of lime and passionfruit streaking across the palate with nerve, verve and great élan. This is mid weight with a dry, mouth-watering finish and aftertaste. Pour alongside freshly shucked oyster under a squeeze of fresh lemon and dotted with hot sauce, sushi or prawn ceviche.” ****Vic Harradine, winecurrnt.com
