Vineyards

All of the Chardonnay in this wine is grown at Rosehall Run from vines planted between 2002 and 2007 with a healthy proportion (25%) of Chardonnay Musqué.  This Chardonnay was fermented cold in stainless steel to preserve the aromatics and fresh fruit character. Bottled April 2018.

Tasting Notes

Medium weight, bright citrus fruit and white flower aroma on the nose; on the palate lemon zest, peachy fruit and grape taste with lingering juicy acidity and light vanilla bean on the finish.

Food Pairing Suggestions

This Chardonnay is very food friendly. Try it with hearty soup like lentils with fresh herbs and lemon, lightly buttered pasta or risotto with white meat or simply prepared fish, like seared mackerel or halibut.

Critical Acclaim

“This tang-laden beauty was sourced from 10- to 15-year-old, estate, dry-farmed vines with 25% chardonnay musqué. Aromas of flinty minerality, green apple, floral notes and citrus swirl from the glass. Tart apple and racy citrus acidity bolt across the palate infusing the lip-smacking finish and aftertaste along with flecks of orchard fruit and saline minerality. Pour with freshly shucked briny oysters, sushi or prawn ceviche.” Score 90 Vic Harradine, winecurrent.com

“This is a slim, polished very pleasant lighter chardonnay with pretty floral, yellow apple and vaguely bready notes on the nose and palate. It is light to medium bodied with fairly tart, lemony County acidity that sets the mouth watering. Some heat as well. The length is very good.”
